The name "Al Hilal" translates to "Crescent" in Arabic, symbolizing the crescent moon that was visible in the sky over Omdurman on the night the club was founded. Remarkably, Al Hilal S.C. holds the distinction of being the first football club in the world to adopt this iconic name.
